Environment
GNOME Shell: (GNOME Shell 49.2)
Wayland session
Dash-to-Dock: default settings
Blur My Shell: default settings
Both extensions enabled at the same time
Issue Summary
When Dash-to-Dock and Blur My Shell are enabled together under Wayland, a ghost window appears after minimizing a window and switching workspaces. This does not happen when either extension is used alone.
Steps to Reproduce
Open any application window
Minimize the window
Switch to another workspace
Switch back
A “fake” window appears on the original workspace
Actual Behavior
A ghost window appears visually on the workspace
The ghost window cannot be interacted with (clicks do nothing)
The actual application window remains minimized
Dash-to-Dock shows the window as still open
This only happens when Dash-to-Dock + Blur My Shell are enabled together
Expected Behavior
No window should appear after switching workspaces if the window is minimized
Workspace should remain empty until the window is restored manually
No ghost window overlays
Notes
This issue happens on default configuration for both extensions
Changing Blur My Shell settings or disabling its Dock blur temporarily avoids the issue
The problem seems related to Wayland rendering or actor state synchronization between the two extensions
On Xorg this issue does not appear
Conclusion
This bug appears to be a compatibility issue between Dash-to-Dock and Blur My Shell under Wayland. I hope this report helps developers identify the cause.
