Thats a good idea, much more elegant and compatible. Do you know if there a sweet spot on these USB-C PD power supplies that would grant the peak power needed when embossing? Just to compare cost/benefit... I see you are working on that on your branch, curious to see the practical tests. |

USB-C PD chargers have long surpassed power bricks in terms of quality, power, voltage compatibility, and safety features. It would make sense to switch over to USB-C PD.
There are now many ICs that make USB-C PD child's play, e.g. HUSB238, HUSB238, CH224K etc.
Upside: E-TKT would benefit from safety features and availability of USB-C PD chargers.
Downside: The current number of capacitor density will cause an in-rush current spike at startup, which will likely trigger USB-C overcurrent protection. This "downside" can easily be remedied in many ways, adding more safety to the PCB anyway.
