Snap: Multiselection crashes freecad with unhandled exception on Snap package 1956

Problem description

When I try to select multiple edges holding the ctrl key, I get an unhandled exception error in the GUI: invalid shape name. After that, selection becomes impossible.

Steps to reproduce

Make a sketch. Close it. Try to select multiple edges.

Expected behavior

Allow multi-selection

Errors start even earlier: when selecting the sketch's plane. Just hovering over a plane triggers this repeatedly:

Looking at the times on the Snap build and mine I would logically say FreeCAD/FreeCAD#25894 fixed the issue.

That seems likely indeed.

Unrelated, but the reason why the fix has not made it to the snap yet: the snap daily builds have been failing for a couple of days because of upstream pushing PySide 6.10 inadvertently. I'll see if I've got time to pin it back to 6.9 tonight and get the builds rolling again.

@pietwauters please refresh your snap install (sudo snap refresh freecad), test again and report back. The snap daily builds are active again and there is a snap available (rev 1961) that contains the fixes we think address this bug.

For the record, after having refreshed the snap, I can no longer reproduce the issue.
