sbctl enroll-keys requires root to run couldn't sync keys issue

Hi I am using EndeavourOS (Archbased) which is installed on Virtualbox. I am using systemD bootloader and dracut initramfs.

I am getting this error after when I tried to enroll microsoft keys:

secure boot is disabled on virtualbox and I have deleted any keys through uefi settings:

Been trying to follow this video however not too sure what he is doing different compared to me.

What are the options in Secure Boot Mode? Maybe you need to change that.

@eNV25 You can either change it to standard mode or custom mode, in custom mode you see all these different keys:

Each of these options gives you either to enrol the keys or to delete them:

You need to set "Custom Mode" and click "Reset Secure Boot Keys".

Hi there, I also encounter the very same error in VirtualBox 7.1.10 running on Arch and trying a Void Linux guest VM ... I even tried to enable secure boot in the virtual machine details, power on the machine, uncheck the option to try secureboot and reset the keys but nothing works. The setup mode is enabled and still I get the message permission denied to write efivars ... must be virtualbox related though ...
