Packaging conflict between fluidsynth in Ubuntu repos and Build Service packages

I notice I cannot safely upgrade my fluidsynth to the latest version without breaking some parts of GStreamer. This is because the latest version uses the package name "libfluidsynth1" while Ubuntu and Debian repos currently use "libfluidsynth3". They cannot be installed in parallel as they both install the same library file to the same location (iirc libfluidsynth.so.3 or something like that), and as such cause dpkg to error

This doesn't make sense, sry. A package called libfluidsynth1 will install a libfluidsynth.so.1. A package called libfluidsynth3 will install a libfluidsynth.so.3.

I faced this issue on Linux Mint, and libfluidsynth1 installed a libfluidsynth.so.3

Then you should file a bug at whoever has packaged this package. It's a bug.
